Instructions

Select a part of speech, and enter one or more words of that part of speech. MultiThesaurus outputs a list of words that mean a combination of the meanings of the input words.

The idea is that "interesting" vocabulary words often convey a combination of multiple more basic meanings. The user inputs the basic meanings to combine, and MultiThesaurus returns the interesting vocabulary words.

Tips

For best results, enter words that have related meanings. If the input words have very different meanings, MultiThesaurus will struggle to find any good results. If the input words have almost identical meanings, MultiThesaurus essentially acts as a strong traditional thesaurus (which is well and good), but MultiThesaurus gives its best and most interesting results when the input words are related but not synonymous.

Entering 3 or more words may restrict results, but this can work well if the input words don’t go in too many different directions.

It tends to be easier to get good results with adjectives than with nouns or verbs.

MultiThesaurus can be very useful but is not infallible, so caveat emptor. If you aren’t entirely sure of the meaning of a result, use a dictionary to check.
